The World Chinese Language Conference 2025 took place in Beijing from 14 to 16 November, reaffirming its status as one of the leading international platforms for advancing language education, academic cooperation, and the digital transformation of teaching. Turkmenistan was represented at the forum by a delegation that participated in the specialized international session titled “Construction of Localized Chinese Language Education System in the Digital Intelligence Era”, organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) with the support of Beijing Foreign Studies University.
The session was held today, 15 November 2025, at China’s largest convention venue, the China National Convention Center, bringing together experts, researchers, university leaders, and representatives of ministries of education from various regions of the world, including Argentina, African countries, Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, the United States, and China.
Particular attention was drawn to the presentation delivered by Maksat Charyyev, Rector of the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi, who provided a comprehensive overview of Turkmenistan’s national efforts to modernize Chinese language teaching in the context of digital transformation.
In his address, the Rector highlighted several key directions being implemented in Turkmenistan:
The presentation of the Turkmen delegation generated considerable interest among representatives of foreign countries. In recent years, Turkmenistan has consistently expanded programmes for studying the Chinese language—from higher education institutions and specialized departments to schools and centres for supplementary education.
Experts noted that Turkmenistan demonstrates strong progress in shaping its own approach to the digitalization of language instruction, positioning the country as a promising partner in the Central Asian region. During the session, participants from various countries presented their models for digitalizing and localizing Chinese language education within national systems—from AI-based platforms to multimedia learning resources and culturally sensitive teaching materials.
Turkmenistan’s participation in such a significant international session not only underscored the country’s growing interest in advanced educational technologies, but also marked an important step toward strengthening international cooperation in language training. The Turkmen delegation expressed its readiness to continue developing new initiatives and expanding partnerships with leading universities of the People’s Republic of China.
