Turkmenistan outlines priorities on water use issues in the region

At the Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State held on November 16 in Tashkent, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov called on his counterparts to show solidarity in cooperation on water use and to intensify joint efforts to address environmental challenges.

“We expect further strengthening of cooperation on water resources in the region based on equality, respect for each other’s interests, mutual understanding, and solidarity,” the President of Turkmenistan said.

Focusing attention on the integrity of environmental well-being, the Head of State noted that Ashgabat advocates for stepping up joint efforts on environmental issues in the region, particularly on sensitive matters such as saving the Aral Sea and combating desertification.
