The outstanding classic of Turkmen literature Makhtumkuli Fragi once noted: “Those who read books are filled with meaning.” Indeed, books are among the greatest spiritual guides of humanity. In modern Turkmenistan, great importance is attached to reading and the promotion of books. The works of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and the esteemed President, Hero Arkadagly Serdar, serve as a true source of wisdom and inspiration for every citizen of the country.
To further cultivate a consistent reading habit among teachers and students, as well as to encourage a deep understanding of the ideas presented in the books of the National Leader and Hero Arkadagly Serdar, a competition was organized.
The contest was held among education workers — based on Hero Arkadag’s book “Hakyda göwheri” (“The Jewel of Memory”), and among 11th–12th grade students — based on Hero Arkadagly Serdar’s book “Ýaşlar – Watanyň daýanjy” (“Youth — the Pillar of the Motherland”).
Recently, a stage of the competition was held in the Makhtumkuli district of Balkan province. Teachers and students who had previously demonstrated excellent results at the school level took part. Participants showcased their preparation by answering questions developed from the respective books.
Notably, the competition was conducted using a computer-based system, reflecting the dynamic development of digitalization in the country’s education sector.
Based on the results of the contest, the first place among education workers was awarded to Shirin Alymova, an English teacher at Secondary School No. 8 named after Zelili. Among the students, the winner was Aybibi Kadyrova, a 12th-grade student from Secondary School No.13 named after D. Ovlyyagulyyev.
