15th Meeting of Central Asian Deputy Foreign Ministers held in Almaty

On November 28, in the city of Almaty, the 15th Meeting of Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Central Asian countries was held, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan with the support of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA).

The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Central Asian countries, as well as representatives from the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, and UNRCCA. The Turkmen side was represented by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Batyr Rejepov.

In his speech, the Turkmen representative noted Turkmenistan's active participation in international initiatives, emphasizing that the country's actions are based on the principles of Permanent Neutrality.

During the discussions, the parties reviewed important issues on the regional and international agenda, as well as opportunities for developing regional cooperation. Views were exchanged on specific areas of regional interaction, including trade and economics, transport and logistics corridors, water and energy, and issues related to climate change.

The participants stressed the need to coordinate joint efforts against emerging new threats and events affecting peace and security in the region.
