Turkmenistan participated in the 42nd meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of the TURKSOY Member States

A Turkmen delegation, led by Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Atageldy Shamyradov, participated in the 42nd meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), held on November 28, 2025, in Aktau.

Following the meeting, the Permanent Council approved the Activity Report and Financial Report of the TURKSOY General Secretariat for the past period and took note of information from the Republic of Kazakhstan on the implementation of events held during the year as part of the Capital of Culture program.

The Council heard information from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the proclamation of Andijan as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World in 2026 and presented a program of upcoming events.

Furthermore, the Permanent Council instructed the TURKSOY General Secretariat to prepare a draft document on the development and strengthening of the Organization in pursuance of the decision taken at the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States and submit it to the competent authorities of the member states for review. Final approval of the document is scheduled for the next Council meeting.

Turkmenistan's participation in the Permanent Council meeting and accompanying events in Aktau confirmed the country's commitment to deepening cooperation within TURKSOY, strengthening humanitarian ties, and further developing cultural interaction with the countries of the Turkic world.
