President of Turkmenistan held a meeting on the development of the country's agricultural sector

On December 1, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atakhalliyev and regional governors to discuss the development of the agricultural sector and the progress of work in the country's regions.

Toyguly Nurmyradov, Governor of the Ahal Region, reported that necessary measures are currently being taken to ensure a loss-free cotton harvest, down to the last boll. Furthermore, fields in the region are being plowing in preparation for next year's cotton planting. In wheat fields where uniform germination has been achieved, irrigation and mineral fertilizers are being applied.

Then, Balkan Velayat Governor Khodjamyrat Ashyrmyradov reported on the progress of the current agricultural campaigns in the region. As reported, work is currently underway to harvest the remaining cotton in the fields down to the last boll and prepare the land for the 2026 cotton sowing. Also, in the region, vegetation irrigation and mineral fertilizer application are being carried out on wheat-sown areas.

Then, Dashoguz Velayat Governor Dovletgeldi Babayev reported on the necessary measures being taken to harvest the cotton grown in the velayat without losses, using agricultural machinery efficiently. Furthermore, areas allocated for next year's cotton sowing are being ploughed and mineral fertilizer application is being carried out. Uniform germination has been achieved in the wheat fields.

Then, Durdy Gendzhiev, Governor of the Lebap Region, reported that work continues in the fields to harvest and deliver raw cotton to the state, as well as plowing the land cleared after the harvest and applying mineral fertilizers in preparation for next year's sowing.

Then, Dovranberdi Annaberdiev, Governor of the Mary Region, reported that appropriate measures are currently being implemented in the fields to harvest cotton down to the last boll. Particular attention is being paid to the efficient use of agricultural machinery. Plowing of agricultural land is underway to ensure a bountiful cotton harvest next year. Work is also underway to harvest sugar beets and ensure their uninterrupted transportation to receiving centers.

The hyakims also reported on the steps being taken in the regions to organize and conduct high-level celebrations to mark the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality, and to ensure food abundance in markets and retail outlets during the holidays.

Deputy Prime Minister Tangryguly Atakhalliyev then reported on the progress of the country's ongoing agricultural campaigns.

As noted, cotton harvesting is currently underway in the velayats, with the harvest continuing down to the last boll. Agricultural measures, including irrigation and mineral fertilizer application, are being implemented in wheat fields. At the same time, plowing is underway for the cotton crop next season. Appropriate measures are being taken to prepare the equipment that will be used in the agricultural campaigns in the coming year.

Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the role of agriculture in the national economy as a key sector ensuring food abundance in the country, as well as the need to develop this sector through diversification and the widespread adoption of advanced global practices. He gave the Deputy Prime Minister specific instructions in this regard.

Additionally, addressing the meeting participants, the head of state ordered that preparations be made for the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality, that 24-hour security be organized at institutions and enterprises in the provinces during the holidays, and that markets and stores across the country be supplied with a variety of goods.
