On December 11, the esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of our country’s Permanent Neutrality.
The head of our state noted that the participation of the President of Uzbekistan in the forum is a clear demonstration of the Uzbek side’s support for Turkmenistan’s policy of Neutrality. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in turn, emphasized that the festive forum in Turkmenistan holds great significance for strengthening peace in the region, and he warmly congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on the 30th anniversary of Neutrality.
During the meeting, the parties highlighted the successful development of international cooperation between the two countries in political, trade-economic, and other areas. It was also stressed that the recent state visit has given new momentum to bilateral relations.
During the conversation, issues related to increasing trade turnover, implementing joint projects, and expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation were discussed.
The sides underlined the expansion of high-level good-neighborly relations and the effective cooperation between the two countries within international organizations such as the UN, CIS, and CSTO.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the presidents exchanged best wishes and expressed confidence in the successful further development of friendly and good-neighborly relations.
