The Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan has begun the admission campaign for the Great Saparmurat Turkmenbashi Military Institute and specialized military schools for the 2026–2027 academic year. Applications from prospective students are accepted until May 1, 2026, through local military commissariats.
Citizens of Turkmenistan who are male, under 24 years of age, with secondary education, and who have completed compulsory military service or wish to serve voluntarily, are eligible to apply to the Great Saparmurat Turkmenbashi Military Institute. Graduates of the Ministry of Defense’s specialized military schools are accepted up to 25 years of age, while contract servicemen can apply up to 24 years of age. The duration of study is 5 years.
Entrance exams are conducted in mathematics, physics, and the history of Turkmenistan, along with physical fitness tests. All exams are held in the Turkmen language. Cadets are provided with dormitory accommodation, military uniforms, educational materials, and receive scholarships in accordance with the law.
Specialized military schools of the Ministry of Defense admit boys aged 14–15 who have completed the 8th grade of Turkmen secondary schools in 2026. The duration of study is 4 years. Applicants undergo testing in the 8th-grade school subjects and a dictation in the Turkmen language.
The curriculum includes academic and military-educational classes, physical training, and advanced initial military training. Students of military schools are provided with dormitory accommodation, military uniforms, educational materials, and four meals a day.
