A ceremonial event dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Turkmen composer and founder of the national opera school, Danatar Ovezov, was held at the library of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva.
As noted during the meeting by library specialists, the composer belonged to a creative generation that succeeded in harmoniously combining deep-rooted folk traditions with the academic forms of world musical art.
Special attention was paid to the master’s vocal legacy. Danatar Ovezov left behind a vast creative heritage—four operas and more than 150 vocal works, including romances and songs that have become part of the national cultural treasury.
For his invaluable contribution to culture, Danatar Ovezov was awarded the title of People’s Artist of Turkmenistan, and his outstanding achievements in the arts were later honored with the State Prize named after Magtymguly.
