A ceremonial opening of a new Ayurveda classroom was held at the Myrat Garryýew State Medical University of Turkmenistan. The event was attended by Sibi George, a representative of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India, staff from the Indian Embassy in Turkmenistan, as well as professors and students of the university.
Speakers at the opening ceremony noted that this new center is an important step in strengthening scientific and educational relations between the two countries. This initiative is a practical manifestation of the cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Turkmenistan and India, specifically resulting from agreements reached during high-level negotiations.
Indian experts emphasized that Ayurveda is an ancient healing system developed over centuries. This method helps maintain the harmony of the human body and spirit through natural remedies, proper nutrition, and yoga exercises. The newly opened room will provide students with extensive opportunities to study the intricacies of this ancient science more deeply.
Currently, special classes on traditional Indian medicine are taught across several departments of the university. This cooperation is being developed based on an intergovernmental Memorandum signed in 20. Another significant event in this field was the earlier opening of the first Yoga and Traditional Medicine Center in Central Asia, located in Ashgabat.
At the end of the ceremony, participants familiarized themselves with the equipment and working methods of the new classroom. The event concluded with engaging performances by the university’s musical group, "Melhem." Participants expressed their gratitude to the leaders of both nations for the opportunities provided to develop international cooperation.
