STUDENTS IN PRACTICE IN THE SCIENTIFIC LIBRARY

In accordance with the 2025–2026 academic plan, first-year students specialising in Library Science and Library and Information Services from the Faculty of Librarianship of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture completed an internship in February 2026 at the scientific library of Magtymguly Turkmen State University. Library specialists conducted orientation sessions introducing students to the library’s structure and operations.

During the internship, participants learned about the development of the library sector, the introduction of innovative technologies and the implementation of the State Programme for Library System Development for 2025–2029. Particular attention was given to modern library models, collection expansion, digital resources and remote access services.

The internship enabled students to consolidate theoretical knowledge, gain insight into contemporary library practices and strengthen professional competencies. Participants expressed strong interest in contributing to the future development of librarianship and promoting reading culture.
