Turkmenistan continues its consistent efforts to improve the national education system, introduce modern pedagogical approaches, and enhance the quality of specialist training. Special attention is being paid to preserving the purity, expressiveness, and national identity of the Turkmen language, as well as to improving the methodology of teaching it at different levels of education.
Recently, a new textbook entitled “Methodology of Teaching the Turkmen Language in Grades V–VI” was published for the country’s secondary vocational institutions (authors: O.Handurdyyeva and B. Garakhanov – Ashgabat: Turkmen State Publishing Service, 2026). The textbook consists of nine chapters and covers key aspects of teaching the Turkmen language, including modern approaches to lesson organization and methods of teaching phonetics, spelling, vocabulary, morphology, stylistics, and the development of students’ oral and written speech.
The new publication is aimed at improving the professional training of future teachers, strengthening their methodological knowledge, and promoting effective classroom practices. The textbook has become another important contribution to the development of the national education system and the methodological support of teaching the native language.
