THE III FINAL STAGE OF THE STATE FOREIGN LANGUAGES COMPETITION SUCCESSFULLY HELD AT THE YAGSHYGELDI KAKAYEV INTERNATIONAL OIL AND GAS UNIVERSITY

In order to assess the knowledge of learners, identify talented youth, develop independent working skills, reveal creative abilities, encourage them, and improve the quality of foreign language learning, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan announced a State Foreign Languages Competition among students of educational institutions that organize short-term courses regardless of their form of ownership. The III final stage of this competition, that is, the final round among the listeners of educational centers operating in the country, was successfully held on March 15, 2026. As usual, the State Competition was organized in English and Russian across four age categories. In the first stage of the competition, the listeners of training centers organizing short-term courses competed among themselves within their respective centers. In the second stage, participants competed in the city of Ashgabat and in the regional centers. The third and final stage was held at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, where the participants demonstrated their abilities. This State Competition, held for the fourth time, brought together in one place young talents from all corners of the country who are interested in foreign languages, teachers of foreign languages, as well as representatives of state and private educational centers of various forms of ownership. The event became one of the memorable occasions in the country’s education system under the motto: “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan — the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Steeds.”

In the first stage of the State Competition, more than 730 young talents who won their rounds advanced to the second stage, which was held on March 1, 2026. They demonstrated their abilities at the following venues:

For the city of Ashgabat, the city of Arkadag, and the Ahal velayat — at the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Döwletmämmet Azady;

For the Balkan velayat — at Secondary School No. 21 in the city of Balkanabat, specialized in natural sciences;

For the Dashoguz velayat — at the Turkmen Agricultural Institute;

For the Lebap velayat — at the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi;

For the Mary velayat — at the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan.

As a result, more than 220 winners of the second stage earned the right to participate in the third and final stage — the national final, which took place on March 15, 2026, at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University. All stages of the State Competition were carried out under the coordination of the Central Organizing Committee. The local organizing committees, jury panels, and supervisory groups successfully fulfilled their assigned responsibilities, ensuring that the competition was conducted according to the principles of openness and transparency.

The State Foreign Languages Competition is conducted in accordance with the “Regulations on the Conduct of the State Foreign Languages Competition among Students of Educational Institutions Organizing Short-Term Courses Regardless of Form of Ownership”, approved by the Order of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan No. 342 dated November 4, 2022, and registered with the Ministry of Justice of Turkmenistan on November 26, 2022, under registration number 1663. The competition is also held based on the Order of the Minister of Education No. 41 dated February 9, 2026, “On Conducting the State Foreign Languages Competition among Students of Educational Institutions Organizing Short-Term Courses Regardless of Form of Ownership.” The selection of the most capable and well-prepared participants in the III final stage of the competition demonstrates the high level of competitiveness at each stage of the State Competition. Thus, out of the young talents who earned the right to participate in the III final stage, 48 individuals became winners. According to the schedule, for each age group in English and Russian, the awards were distributed as follows: one first-place winner, two second-place winners, and three third-place winners. The winners were awarded diplomas from the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and valuable gifts. We also wish all the winners continued success in their future endeavors.
