A Scientific Round Table Seminar on Artificial Intelligence Held at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University

On March 14, 2026, a scientific round table seminar entitled “From Geological Exploration to Production: The Role of Digital Technologies in the Oil and Gas Industry” was held at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University. The event was organized to discuss important issues related to the role of modern digital technologies in the oil and gas sector and their effective application in scientific research and industrial production.

During the meeting, the role of modern software in the fields of geophysics and petrophysics was discussed in detail. The speakers presented important information about the possibilities of rapid and accurate seismic data analysis using artificial intelligence, as well as the use of machine learning methods in the creation of geological models. It was particularly emphasized that these technologies play a significant role in the study of oil and gas fields and in the discovery of new reserves.

Issues related to the use of artificial intelligence in science, education, and industry were also widely discussed. Experts noted that digital technologies currently play an important role in increasing the efficiency of scientific research, improving the training of young specialists, and developing innovative approaches in production processes.

Special attention was also given to the introduction of artificial intelligence systems in drilling operations. The presentations provided information about the development of AI systems capable of operating efficiently even under uncertain drilling conditions, as well as about new technologies that can increase the mechanical rate of drilling.

Representatives of various departments and industry organizations delivered presentations at the seminar. In particular, Maksat Churiyev, Head of the Cybersecurity Department and Candidate of Technical Sciences; Jennet Jumakhanova, Head of the Geophysics Laboratory of the Scientific Research Institute of Natural Gas of the State Concern “Turkmengaz”; Berdimyrat Saparov, lecturer of the Department of Oil and Gas Well Drilling; Altyn Myradova, lecturer of the Department of Modern Computer Technologies; and Sahragul Tashliyeva, lecturer of the Department of Informatics and Information Technologies, shared their scientific views and professional experience in their respective fields.

The meeting was moderated by Geldimyrat Meredov, lecturer of the Department of Geology and Geochemistry. He noted that the issues discussed during the seminar are of great importance for the development and digitalization of the oil and gas industry of the country.

The scientific seminar was enriched with active discussions, proposals, and new scientific approaches, enabling participants to gain comprehensive information about the capabilities of modern technologies. Such events contribute to the development of scientific cooperation and make a significant contribution to the effective implementation of digital technologies in the oil and gas industry in the future.
