On March 2, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, received the Minister of State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Member of the Cabinet of Ministers, Emir Turki bin Mohammed Al Saud.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to personally discuss priority areas of mutually beneficial cooperation, the guest congratulated the head of state and the entire Turkmen people on the blessed holiday of Oraza. He also took the opportunity to convey warm greetings and best wishes from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Thanking him for his kind words and wishes, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conveyed his best wishes in return to the King of Saudi Arabia and members of the royal family. He expressed confidence that the current visit of Emir Turki bin Mohammed Al Saud would contribute to the further development and strengthening of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, it was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening traditional friendly and fraternal intergovernmental relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, characterized by openness, mutual respect, and a high level of trust.
It was also emphasized that the two countries successfully cooperate not only on a bilateral basis but also within the framework of reputable international organizations, primarily the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
During the exchange of views on the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral trade and economic relations, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the annual growth in mutual trade turnover.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the modernization and diversification of the national economy, along with the active attraction of foreign investments into all its sectors, are priority directions of Turkmenistan's economic strategy.
Turkmenistan remains open to effective cooperation with foreign partners, and the comprehensive socio-economic programs currently being implemented create favorable conditions for expanding the productive relations established in recent years.
As is well known, Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia are countries with vast natural resource reserves, which serve as a foundation for developing mutually beneficial partnerships in the fuel and energy sector. In this regard, the interlocutors noted the great potential and prospects for increasing cooperation in the extraction, processing, and supply of oil and gas to global markets. They confirmed the mutual readiness of both parties to further deepen their established and effective cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Minister of State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Member of the Cabinet of Ministers Emir Turki bin Mohammed Al Saud, wished each other good health and well-being, as well as peace and continued prosperity to the fraternal peoples of both countries.
