The awarding ceremony for the winners of the International Mathematical Olympiad began with opening remarks and musical performances. At the conclusion of the musical performances, guests were deeply impressed by the performance of the song “Forward, forward, only forward, my native land of Turkmenistan” with lyrics and music by the the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedo, performed by “Mukam” violin ensemble. The ceremony then continued with the awarding.
According to the results of the OMOUS-2026, 156 medals were won in the individual competition, including 32 gold, 45 silver, and 79 bronze in Category A. In Category B, 182 medals were won, including 33 gold, 49 silver, and 100 bronze. A total of 34 medals were also won in the team competition: 6 gold, 12 silver, and 16 bronze.
It’s worth noting that Turkmen students particularly excelled in the results. Our Turkmen youth won a total of 78 medals in Category A, including 15 gold, 30 silver, and 33 bronze; in Category B, a total of 120 medals, including 18 gold, 39 silver, and 63 bronze. In the team competition, a total of 13 medals were won in Category B, including 2 gold, 5 silver, and 6 bronze. After Turkmenistan, delegations from Uzbekistan won the most medals. Students from Uzbekistan won a total of 103 medals in individual competitions, including 3 gold, 7 silver, and 41 bronze medals in Category A, and 10 gold, 9 silver, and 33 bronze medals in Category B. In team competitions, 39 teams from Uzbekistan won a total of 10 medals, 3 silver, and 7 bronze medals. Students from the Russian Federation won 30 medals in individual competitions, including 13 gold, 8 silver, and 5 bronze medals in Category A and 1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals in Category B. In team competitions, they won a total of 7 medals: 4 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal from 9 teams. Additionally, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan won one gold medal in Category A in the individual competition and one bronze medal in the team competition. In Category B, students from Greece, the Netherlands, Germany, and Hungary each won one gold medal in the individual competition. Representatives from Greece and the Netherlands also won one silver medal in the team competition. The delegations of the United Arab Emirates and the Islamic Republic of Iran each won one bronze medal in the individual competition. The Iranian delegation also won one bronze medal in the team competition.
The prize-winning students and their monitors expressed their sincere pride on the podium.
Following the awards ceremony of the Open International Mathematical Olympiad, the winners posed for a commemorative photo. The young mathematicians who won prizes expressed gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero Arkadag, and Esteemed President, Arkadagly Hero Serdar for the opportunity to participate in such an international Olympiad, exchange experiences, and learn about the cultural values of our country.
