On March 30, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova held a meeting with the UNICEF Representative in Turkmenistan, Jalpa Ratna. During the meeting, key areas of cooperation were discussed, including the implementation of joint projects in the fields of education, social protection, and sustainable development.
Special significance was given to the joint implementation of tasks arising from the UNICEF Country Programme for Turkmenistan for 2026 – 2030.
The parties exchanged views on the development of pre-school education.
During the conversation, issues related to the development of the social work system were also discussed, including professional training, the creation of new jobs, and the improvement of institutional mechanisms.
The meeting emphasized the importance of adopting the National Strategy for Early Childhood Development for 2026 – 2030. Additionally, the parties discussed the implementation of projects to develop inclusive educational infrastructure, child protection, and the preparation of the National Programme on Child Justice.
