Two talented schoolchildren from Turkmenistan successfully competed in a recent international chess competition held in Uzbekistan, enhancing the sporting prestige of our country on an international level.
Specifically, at the 4th International Women’s Chess Championship titled "Women’s Chess Championship" held in the city of Bukhara, Mahri Agamyradova, an athlete from the 13th sports school of Turkmenabat, took first place among girls under 16 in the "Challengers" group. The competition, which brought together representatives from nine nations, was conducted according to the Swiss system in "Masters," "Challengers," and "Futures" categories.
Additionally, in the "Futures" group, Gulmira Seyilhanova, a student from the 41st secondary school of Turkmenabat, managed to break into the top seven among 62 participants.
The results achieved by the Turkmen chess players demonstrate the high level of preparation of young athletes and the development of chess as a sport in our country.
