In order to implement the instructions of our Honorable President on increasing the digital literacy of youth in the country's higher and secondary vocational schools, forming a culture of cybersecurity, and teaching the safe use of modern technologies, on April 8, 2026, Tyllagozel Nurmyradova, a lecturer at the Department of "Computer Technologies and Systems," conducted an educational seminar for students of the Ashgabat Vocational Secondary Construction School. The seminar, titled "Security Rules in the Digital World," focused on information technology and cybersecurity.
The primary objective of the seminar was to deepen the knowledge of future young specialists regarding threats in the digital world, teach rules of conduct in cyberspace, and improve methods for ensuring data integrity.
During the session, the lecturer presented interesting facts about the history of computer viruses, ranging from early versions like "Creeper" and "Brain" to modern, complex cyberattacks. Furthermore, using specific examples, it was explained that viruses do not only hinder system performance but also pose serious threats to the protection of state and personal data.
This meeting highlighted the importance of security measures in the digital environment. Students became acquainted with various types of viruses (Trojans, worms, ransomware) and their harmful effects on software. The functions of antivirus systems and the necessity of data backup were discussed. Students addressed the lecturer with their questions and exchanged views on contemporary cybersecurity issues.
As a result of the wise policy pursued by our Honorable President, the educational system of Turkmenistan is being digitalized and improved. Such educational seminars, by expanding the technical horizons of the youth, will greatly assist in developing highly skilled and competitive professionals who will contribute to the digital economy and information security of our country.
