Young mathematicians from Turkmenistan managed to win the highest number of medals at the III International Mathematical Olympiad among school students held in Ashgabat. This was reported by the "Türkmenistan" newspaper.
As noted in the report, a total of 170 students and 28 representatives from 11 countries participated in the olympiad, which started on April 10 at the specialized secondary school No. 135 with advanced English language studies in Ashgabat. 71 students competed in category A, and 99 in category B. Turkmen students won a total of 29 medals: 2 gold, 4 silver, and 5 bronze in category A, and 4 gold, 6 silver, and 8 bronze in category B.
Following Turkmenistan, the most medals were awarded to students from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Iran, Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Armenia.
The closing ceremony of the olympiad took place at the Magtymguly Turkmen State University. It was attended by university professors and teachers, students, the competing students, and foreign representatives.
During the ceremony, the school students who performed successfully in the olympiad were presented with certificates of honor and medals.
As part of their visit to our country, the guests toured the beautiful spots of our capital and familiarized themselves with the culture and national traditions of our people. The excursions to the Museum of Neutrality of Turkmenistan and the "Magtymguly Pyragy" cultural and park complex were particularly impressive.
