On April 24, 2026, in the significant year declared as the “Year of Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses,” a cultural and mass event dedicated to the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse was held in a solemn and inspiring atmosphere at the Yagshygeldi Kakaev International Oil and Gas University. The festive concert titled “Horses – the National Heritage and Pride of Turkmenistan” celebrated the country’s national values, equestrian culture, and heritage passed on to the younger generation.
The festive event opened in a ceremonial atmosphere, during which special attention was given to the love, respect, and pride of the Turkmen people for horses, which have been regarded as one of the most valuable historical and cultural treasures since ancient times. Performances dedicated to the Akhal-Teke horses, considered an integral part of the national culture of Turkmenistan, left a strong impression on the participants of the event.
As part of the program, the university’s creative amateur ensemble “Gara Altyn” presented a variety of musical and vocal performances. Folk songs, national melodies, and modern creative compositions were harmoniously combined, further enhancing the festive atmosphere. The stage performances vividly reflected the beauty, endurance, and special significance of the Turkmen horse in the life of the people.
In addition, an exhibition dedicated to national crafts and applied arts was organized during the event, showcasing various examples of Turkmen decorative and applied art, artistic creativity, and the preservation of ancient traditions in the modern era. Visitors to the exhibition closely explored the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people and expressed deep appreciation for the artistic legacy passed down from their ancestors.
This event was noted not only as a festive celebration but also as an important cultural initiative aimed at strengthening patriotic feelings among the younger generation, as well as preserving and developing national values.
