In the year 2026, themed «Independent neutral Turkmenistan − the homeland of purposeful winged horses», the 35th anniversary of our country's Independence and World Environment Day are marked by grand celebrations. Accordingly, the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University announces an international scientific project competition titled "The role of youth in achieving sustainable development goals" among students of higher educational institutions of our country and abroad.
The main goal of this competition is to strengthen Turkmenistan's international relations in the field of science and education, to identify talented youth, and to increase the ecological culture of students. The event will support the implementation of new technologies by encouraging students' scientific research on vital issues such as food security, environmental protection, and the rational use of natural resources.
The competition will be held in two stages and can be entered in Turkmen, English, and Russian. Students wishing to participate in the first stage must submit their scientific project descriptions to the email address science.tm2024@gmail.com by May 10, 2026. The list of the best works selected by the judges will be published on the university's official website on May 20.
The second stage will take place online from June 1 to 5, 2026, during which students who passed the selection stage will defend their projects via presentation before the Central Organizing Working Group. Project works must be based on scientific principles, include experimental data, and be between 15 and 20 pages in length.
The competition will be conducted in six main directions: zero hunger and food security, clean water and sanitation, affordable energy, climate action, and the preservation of marine and terrestrial ecosystems. These directions fully align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and provide ample opportunities for young scientists to demonstrate their abilities.
The results of the competition will be summarized based on the scores collected, and I, II, and III place winners will be determined for each category. The winners will be awarded diplomas of the respective degrees and commemorative gifts by the Rector of the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University.
