The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, with the participation of public organizations “Union of Economists of Turkmenistan” and “Achievements of Youth of Turkmenistan,” as well as business companies “Maslahatly Chozgut” and “Expert Consulting,” organized a foresight session on the development of IT specialist training.
The event aimed to identify existing gaps between IT specialist training in educational institutions and the requirements of the labor market. In this context, educational plans and programs aimed at improving the training of specialists were discussed.
The organizers used modern interactive tools for conducting open expert discussions, such as “Aquarium,” “World Café,” and others, which made it possible to effectively assess the significance of proposed solutions and the feasibility of their practical implementation.
As a result of the event, a Roadmap for changes in the field of IT specialist training was developed, and new forms of cooperation between the education system and business were presented. The need to strengthen practice-oriented education was also emphasized.
The foresight session on the IT labor market in Turkmenistan in 2026 is considered a highly timely step, given the country’s transition to the implementation of the Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy for 2026–2028 and the growing demand for qualified specialists aligned with current and future employer requirements.
The organizers believe that the regular holding of foresight sessions will make it possible to monitor changes in the labor market and promptly adjust the training of qualified specialists.
