International meeting held at Turkmen Agricultural University

An official meeting with representatives of the Central and West Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) was held at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University. The event was organized within the framework of the project on strengthening the development of "green" skills under the "Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC)" program. During the meeting, the parties discussed future plans for further integrating "green" skills and a just transition system into vocational and higher education policies and strategies. This was reported on the official website of the higher education institution.

The international delegation included Zulfia Karimova, Principal Regional Cooperation Specialist of the Asian Development Bank, Lilia Kachkinbaeva, Consultant, and Valeria Danilchenko, National Consultant. The meeting analyzed the alignment of national strategies, curricula, and syllabi in the field of higher professional education with national climate change commitments. The results of the analysis regarding the needs of various economic sectors for "green" skills and a just transition were also reviewed.

During the talks, special attention was paid to bringing cooperation among agricultural higher education institutions in the CAREC region to a new level. In this area, intensifying the academic exchange of students and teachers, joint preparation of scientific articles, organizing international conferences, developing educational standards for new disciplines, and conducting short-term training seminars were identified as priority directions.

Currently, within the framework of pilot projects, a special training module focused on sustainable development and ecology has been developed with the participation of the university's faculty. The regional center for "green" skills to be established in the future will become the main hub for research on innovative solutions and sustainable development in agriculture. The event also highlighted the significance of the Turkmen delegation member's participation in the third meeting of the CAREC Working Group on Skills Development held in Istanbul in the spring of this year.

At the end of the meeting, the participants wished for the further prosperity of mutually beneficial international relations. They also expressed their deep gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for creating extensive opportunities to develop the science and education system and to sustainably expand international cooperation.
