Organized by the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, the IV Open International Internet Olympiad on World Economics was held among students of higher education institutions of our country and foreign nations. This was reported in the "Turkmenistan" newspaper.
As noted in the report, a total of 140 students from 39 higher education institutions across 12 countries participated in the Olympiad. Along with Turkmen students, they include representatives from Germany, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey.
The Olympiad was conducted in an online format and organized through a specialized internet platform. The tasks presented to the participants covered the theoretical foundations of the world economy, international trade, international financial relations, and contemporary issues of global economic development. Participants competed to solve 10 problems related to the subject of world economics within the allotted 120 minutes.
According to the results of the international internet olympiad, a total of 11 students won first place. Two of them are students from higher education institutions of our country. More precisely, they are Nursoltan Mammedova and Elnara Derbashova, students of the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management and the Turkmen State Financial Institute. Out of the 22 participants who won the runner-up second place, 9 are students from the universities of our country. The performance shown by a total of 10 students from our country in the international olympiad was deemed worthy of third place.
The Olympiad was organized in accordance with the tasks defined in the "Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education in Turkmenistan for 2026 — 2052" and the Action Plan for its implementation for 2026 — 2030, with the aim of assessing youth knowledge on the main directions of the world economy, the substance of international economic relations, and modern global economic development trends. It is aimed at identifying talented youth, deepening their economic knowledge, and developing international cooperation in higher professional education.
The IV Open International Internet Olympiad contributed to raising the level of knowledge of its participants in world economics, identifying talented youth, and strengthening international educational cooperation.
