NEW “WORLD HISTORY” TEXTBOOK PUBLISHED FOR 12TH GRADE STUDENTS IN TURKMENISTAN

A new “World History” textbook for 12th-grade students of general secondary schools has been published in Turkmenistan. The textbook, authored by J. Hatamov and J. Gurbangeldiyev, was released by the Turkmen State Publishing Service in 2026. The publication aims to expand students’ understanding of modern global developments and international relations.
The textbook focuses on the political, economic, and social transformations of the 21st century. It includes materials on countries of Europe and the Americas, nations of Asia and Africa, as well as major global challenges and international cooperation. Particular attention is given to technological progress, artificial intelligence, and the role of permanently neutral Turkmenistan in international affairs.
The publication consists of one section, three chapters, and 32 paragraphs prepared in accordance with the national educational curriculum. The textbook also includes a glossary and a list of abbreviations. The new educational resource is expected to help students develop a broader worldview and a deeper understanding of contemporary global processes.
