Turkmen Schoolchildren succeed at Robotics Competition in the Netherlands

Turkmen schoolchildren, competing as the Oguzrobot team, secured a spot in the TOP-20 at the international robotics competition, the FIRST Tech Challenge European Premier Event 2026, held in Eindhoven, Netherlands. This was reported by a press service of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium.

The finals of the competition, which took place from June 16 to 20 featured 105 teams from 33 countries. The event was organized by the Dutch organization STEAMup, a partner of the FIRST Tech Challenge in the Benelux countries.

The team consisted of students from Ashgabat School No. 97: Durdane Kurbanova, Ogulay Kuliyeva, Oraznyyaz Rejepov, Nepesaly Tachmyradov, and Nuraly Kerimov. The team was led by their mentor, Gurban Seyitgulyyev.

The team earned the right to compete in the European finals following their performance at the FIRST Tech Challenge Central Asia 2026 competition in Astana.

Sapar Palvanov, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belgium, welcomed the students at the embassy building and congratulated them on their successful performance. According to him, the achievements of Turkmen youth in robotics, engineering, and programming reflect the growing interest of the younger generation in science and modern technologies.
