On June 26, 2026, the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University hosted the scientific and practical conference entitled “The Creative of Magtymguly: The Wisdom and Spiritual Heritage of Turkmen Culture” dedicated to the Day of Culture and Art Workers and the Day of Magtymguly Pyragy’s Poetry.
The main objective of the conference was to provide a scholarly interpretation of the literary and philosophical heritage of the great master of words, Magtymguly Pyragy, from the standpoint of modern academic approaches, to reveal the national spiritual values and humanistic principles embodied in his works, and to highlight the significance of his legacy in the continuous development of cultural traditions.
At the plenary session, Professor N.Sukhhanov of the University delivered a presentation devoted to the role of Magtymguly Pyragy’s philosophical worldview in the spiritual development of Turkmen society. In his report, he demonstrated through scholarly arguments that the ideas of justice, humanism, unity, patriotism, and moral perfection reflected in the poet’s works extend far beyond the historical period in which they were created and continue to retain their relevance in the context of contemporary engineering and social development.
Senior lecturer G.Saparova focused her presentation on the artistic expression of moral and cultural values in Magtymguly’s poetry. Particular attention was paid to the poet’s views on conscience, ethical conduct, family and social responsibility, and fraternal relations, as well as to their significance in shaping the national identity and civic consciousness of the younger generation. The presentations delivered by Senior lecturers J.Sapargulyeva and Sh.Geldiyeva provided a comprehensive analysis of the artistic characteristics of Magtymguly Pyragy’s poetry and examined his contribution to the development of Turkmen literature and culture as an outstanding master of literary expression.
Following the plenary session, the scientific and practical conference continued its work in eight thematic sections. More than 150 scholarly papers were presented, covering various aspects of Magtymguly Pyragy’s legacy in the fields of literary studies, philosophy, cultural studies, history, youth policy, educational work, and social development. The conference brought together professors, lecturers, young researchers, students of the University, as well as representatives of other higher educational institutions, all of whom actively participated in the discussions.
The participants of the scientific and practical conference expressed their sincere wishes for the continued success of the far-reaching initiatives of the Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, aimed at creating broad opportunities for productive work, quality education, and the comprehensive development of society. They also wished them good health, long life, and continued success in their state activities.
