A country’s leading agricultural higher educational establishment is rising to a new level of integration into the global scientific and educational space. At the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held this Friday, a proposal to establish a scientific and practical ‘Agroinnovation in Turkmenistan’ online journal to be published by the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University was approved. A new digital project aims at promoting best practice, popularizing the results of the fundamental research carried out by young scientists, and stimulating technological tracks in the country’s agro-industrial sector.
A new online publication will have international status and will be published in three languages — Turkmen, English and Russian. This will make it possible to develop an effective dialogue platform to exchange the experience between Turkmen specialists and the international expert community. The journal plans to publish innovative articles and analytical materials of the professors, lecturers, PhD students and undergraduates specialising in the key sectors of modern agriculture.
The topics of the publications will cover the industry’s most in-demand and high-tech areas. The authors will focus on the issues of the precise and digital farming, introduction of high technologies into agricultural processes, modern agronomy, agroecology and land reclamation within a sustainable water management.
Approving this initiative, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that the state would continue to provide a comprehensive support for the training of highly qualified specialists and for enhancing the effectiveness of applied science, and gave the relevant Deputy Prime Minister concrete instructions on launching the platform.
