Results of six months of work in Turkmenistan's science, education, healthcare and sports sectors summarized

On July 10, an expanded meeting of the Government was held under the chairmanship of the Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov, where the results of the work carried out during the first six months of this year were analyzed. Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Mammedov reported on the outcomes of activities in the supervised sectors of education, science, healthcare, and sports from January to June. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."

Over the past six months, efforts to modernize the education system continued systematically. Turkmen school and university students managed to win a total of 992 medals in international subject and internet olympiads. Effective research was also conducted in the scientific sphere, and an international scientific conference as well as an award ceremony for the winners of the youth scientific competition were organized on the occasion of Science Day.

In the healthcare system, modern methods of prevention and treatment were introduced into practical medicine. Operations and medical treatments for children in need were carried out utilizing the funds of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Care. In the sports sector, Turkmen athletes achieved great success in international competitions, winning a total of 415 medals.

During the meeting, the Head of State signed Orders approving the admission plans for higher and secondary vocational schools, as well as the Academy of State Service under the President of Turkmenistan for 2026, along with the composition of the relevant state commission, wishing the youth great success. In this regard, instructions were given to prepare thoroughly for the new academic year and to conduct timely renovation works in educational institutions.

The President noted that the new buildings of the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute and the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi will be commissioned this year, demanding high-level preparations for their opening ceremonies. Attention was also drawn to the importance of ensuring fairness and public oversight in organizing entrance examinations.

The Head of State instructed to increase the efficiency of research work in the country, implement new inventions into economic sectors, and utilize advanced world experiences in the healthcare sector. Furthermore, specific tasks were assigned to the Deputy Prime Minister to improve the quality of medical services provided to the population and to create all necessary conditions for youth to engage in mass sports.
