Turkmen student participates in Journalism Summer School in Dushanbe

Yusup Orazov, a first-year student of the Faculty of International Journalism at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, participated in the journalism summer school organized by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), which took place in the Republic of Tajikistan from June 28 to July 12 this year. This was reported on the official website of the university.

This program, organized for young media professionals and future journalists of Central Asia, was implemented by the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to Tajikistan. During the training, special attention was paid to the key areas of modern media, standards of professional ethics, the development of media literacy, as well as methods of combating false information (disinformation).

This year, a total of 20 selected students and young professionals from leading higher education institutions in the region participated in the program, including the University of Central Asia (UCA), New York University Shanghai (NYU Shanghai), Ala-Too International University, and the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages.

As part of their practical sessions, the participants familiarized themselves with the operations of Tajikistan’s state television channel, "Safina." They toured the studio's technical equipment and learned the specifics of live broadcasting and methods for preparing breaking news.

This international program served as an effective platform for exchanging experience and establishing professional connections among the region's future specialists. The organizers plan to continue conducting similar training programs next year.

Following the results of the summer school, Yusup Orazov was awarded an international certificate of successful completion.
