Joint projects are being successfully implemented under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Magtymguly Turkmen State University and the University for Foreigners Perugia. As part of this document, Italian language teachers Kumush Muradova and Selbi Gurbanova from the Department of Romance and Germanic Languages are participating in professional development courses at this partner higher education institution in the Italian Republic. Cooperation between Ashgabat and Rome in higher education, science, and cultural-humanitarian spheres is becoming increasingly stable. Joint relations between the two countries encompass key areas such as involving students and faculty in exchange programs, studying the Italian language and culture, and fostering direct partnerships with leading Italian universities.
As part of educational cooperation, the Italian language is systematically taught at several higher education institutions in Turkmenistan, including the International University for the Humanities and Development and the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages.
Furthermore, agreements aimed at strengthening direct links between universities of both countries are being put into practice, and active cooperation is being established between Turkmenistan's educational and scientific institutions and Italy's renowned institution, the University of Naples Federico II (Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II).
