Turkmen School Students Successfully Presented the Country’s Rich Cultural Heritage at the International Friendship Camp in Shanghai

From 12 to 22 July this year, school students representing the delegation of Turkmenistan successfully participated in the 20th Shanghai International Youth Interactive Friendship Camp, held in Shanghai, People's Republic of China.

The international event brought together 107 school students from 17 countries and aimed to strengthen friendship among young people, promote cultural exchange, and enhance mutual understanding between nations.

As part of the camp programme, Turkmen students actively participated in the Mini-Expo cultural exhibition, where they proudly showcased Turkmenistan’s rich national and cultural heritage. The national exhibition featured the country's historical and cultural treasures, traditional customs, national costumes, world-famous Turkmen carpets, and other unique elements of the tangible and intangible heritage of the Turkmen people. The exhibition attracted considerable interest from participants representing different countries.

During the ten-day programme, the Turkmen students visited historical and modern landmarks of Shanghai, attended practical sessions on the fundamentals of traditional Chinese medicine, and participated in workshops on the traditional craft of making silk hand fans in the city of Suzhou.

The international friendship camp provided valuable opportunities for young people to exchange experience in the fields of education, culture, and creativity, to strengthen respect for the cultural values of different nations, and to establish new friendships.

The participation of Turkmen students in this prestigious international event reflects the successful implementation of Turkmenistan’s youth policy and demonstrates the growing role of the country's young generation in the international community.

Furthermore, the event served as another clear example of the steadily developing strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China in the fields of education, culture, and youth policy, while also contributing to the further strengthening of the friendly relations between the two countries.

Under the leadership of the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan, broad opportunities are being created for young people to actively engage in international cooperation. As a result, Turkmen school students continue to represent their country with distinction at international events, making a meaningful contribution to enhancing Turkmenistan’s reputation on the global stage.
