As part of the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, to the Republic of Korea, taking place from 14 to 16 September 2026, important documents aimed at developing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education, science and youth policy were signed on 15 September.
These documents will contribute to further strengthening the legal framework of Turkmen-Korean relations, expanding mutual cooperation between higher education institutions of the two countries, and bringing international cooperation in the field of education to a new level.
The signed documents include:
“Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family of the Republic of Korea on Cooperation in the Field of Youth Policy”;
“Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management (Turkmenistan) and Sungkyunkwan University (Republic of Korea)”;
“Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of Engineering-Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan and the Global Innovation Studies Organization (Republic of Korea)”;
“Memorandum of Understanding between Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan and the Korea University of Technology and Education (KOREATECH)”;
“Memorandum of Understanding between the International University for the Humanities and Development (Turkmenistan) and Incheon National University (Republic of Korea)”;
“Memorandum of Understanding between the International University for the Humanities and Development and Kyung Hee University”;
“Agreement on Cooperation between the Scientific Center for Strategic Studies of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Asia Center of Seoul National University”;
“Agreement on Cooperation between the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages and Kangwon National University”.
The signed documents open up new opportunities for strengthening Turkmenistan’s position in the international education community, improving the training of highly qualified specialists, promoting academic exchanges among students, teachers and scholars, as well as facilitating the widespread introduction of innovative technologies into the education system.
The consistent development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea in the field of education contributes to enriching the strategic relations between the two friendly countries with new content.
