A themed cultural and educational event entitled “Independence — the Pride of Our Hearts” was held at the library of Specialized Secondary School No. 84 in Ashgabat, which provides advanced instruction in foreign languages. The event was organized jointly with the Arzuw Library of the Centralized Library System and was dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence. It aimed to promote the country’s history, national values and cultural heritage among young people.
The distinguished guest of the event was Oguljemal Charyyeva, a Honoured Cultural Worker of Turkmenistan. Addressing the students, she performed poems celebrating love for the Motherland. A special place in the literary and musical programme was given to the students’ expressive recitation of “The Pride of the Turkmen People,” a poem by the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag Serdar Berdimuhamedov, which celebrates the renowned Akhal-Teke horses, the unique beauty of Turkmenistan’s nature, and the rich national values of the Turkmen people.
Cultural and educational events of this kind, organized in educational institution libraries, contribute to fostering young people’s interest in history, literature and cultural heritage. They also provide students with opportunities to develop their creative abilities and encourage a lasting interest in reading.
