SCIENTIFIC COOPERATION IS DEVELOPING

Teachers from the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, namely Ogulgurban Soltanova, Head of the Department of Biotechnology, and Döwletmyrat Porrykow, Head of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, visited research institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus during their business trip to Belarus. They visited the Institute of Genetics and Cytology, the Institute of Microbiology, and the Institute of Meat and Dairy Industry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and became acquainted with their research activities.

The delegation learned about the scientific research and services provided by the Institute of Genetics and Cytology. Pavel Mikhailovich Morozik, Deputy Director for Research, together with the Institute's researchers, introduced them to the storage of samples in the DNA Bank and to research being conducted in laboratories on the study of organism genomes. At the Institute of Microbiology, they became acquainted with food products produced using microorganisms, agricultural biological preparations, research on water and solid-waste treatment, and the bank of non-pathogenic microorganisms. Future cooperation in the field of microbiology was also discussed with the Institute's Director, Alexander Anatolyevich Shepshelev.

The delegation also visited the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences, where they learned about scientific research on the in vitro cultivation of ornamental and medicinal plants, as well as biochemical studies of plants.
