​President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has left on a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation in order to participate in the XVI BRICS Summit. The head of state was escorted by officials at the Ashgabat International Airport.

One of the priority vectors of Turkmenistan's foreign policy strategy, based on the principles of positive neutrality, peacefulness and constructive cooperation, is the development of a fruitful dialogue with reputable regional and international organizations and structures. In an effort to realize its peacemaking and creative potential for the common good, our country comes up with specific initiatives, the relevance and relevance of which is confirmed by the realities of the time.

Neutral Turkmenistan actively participates in the efforts of the international community aimed at ensuring universal peace and security and achieving Sustainable Development Goals. Being aimed at an equal and mutually beneficial partnership that meets common interests, our country demonstrates openness to expanding its range and geography.

A clear confirmation of this is the current working visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Kazan, which has become the venue for the next BRICS Summit. The fact that the head of the Turkmen state was invited to the current summit in the status of an honorary guest is evidence of the high international authority of the Motherland, recognition of its proactive and responsible position in matters of bilateral and multilateral cooperation with foreign partners. It should also be noted that this is the first participation of the President of Turkmenistan in the BRICS Summit.

As you know, this interstate association was founded in 2006 as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The purpose of the BRICS activities is the development of a consistent, active, equal dialogue and effective cooperation.

As for Turkmenistan's traditionally friendly relations with the Russian Federation, which are of a strategic nature, their integral component is the strengthening of close cooperation with the largest regions and subjects of the Russian Federation. A good example here is the long-term productive partnership with the Republic of Tatarstan, built on the principles of long-term, mutual benefit and solid positive experience of working together.

Regular meetings and negotiations at various levels have laid a reliable foundation for Turkmen-Tatarstan cooperation. In recent years, a new impetus has been given to bilateral trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties. The existing potential creates favorable opportunities for entering new promising areas of cooperation and diversifying business contacts.

For centuries, our peoples have maintained friendly relations based on common cultures, similarity of languages, common religion, equality and respect for each other. The high level of mutual understanding and trust inherent in the Turkmen-Tatarstan dialogue is a solid foundation for the constructive development of bilateral cooperation.

The mutual participation of representatives of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation in major international events and national festive celebrations has become a good tradition. Regular bilateral meetings and visits fully contribute to the development of a multifaceted upward partnership. So, in May of this year, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to Kazan, where he participated as an honorary guest in the XV International Economic Forum "Russia – the Islamic World: KazanForum".

It is also noteworthy that this month the delegation of the Russian Federation, headed by President Vladimir Putin, which included the head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, took part in the International Forum "Interrelation of Times and Civilizations – the basis of peace and development" dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker of the East Mahtumkuly Fragi.

After flying to Kazan, the presidential airliner landed at Gabdulla Tukai International Airport. Here the distinguished guest was given a warm and cordial welcome. At the airport, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed by the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov and other officials.

In the afternoon, the head of Turkmenistan proceeded to the Kazan EXPO International Exhibition Center.

Here, the heads of delegations and international organizations participating in the XVI BRICS Summit were warmly welcomed by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

A reception was given in honor of the distinguished guests on behalf of the head of the Russian Federation.
