Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan discussed the prospects for the development of cooperation in the fields of tourism and sports

On July 22, 2024, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan B.Rejepov met with the Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Y.Marzhikpayev. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in the fields of tourism and sports. It was emphasized that in May 2024, at a meeting of Council of Heads of Government of the CIS, the city of Ashgabat was declared: «The City of New Sports Opportunities of the CIS». To intensify partnership in this direction, it was proposed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of sports.
The interlocutors agreed to actively develop tourism between the two countries, in particular through the participation of representatives of tourism companies of Turkmenistan at exhibitions held in Kazakhstan.
In conclusion, Y.Marzhikpayev invited the Turkmen side to take part in the official opening ceremony of the 5th World Nomad Games, which will be held on September 8-14, 2024 in Astana.
