The choice of the future profession is a matter of particular importance

The admission campaign to the secondary vocational and higher educational establishments of our country continues. This is responsible time for a conscious choice of the future profession and the beginning of a new stage in the life of the young Turkmen citizens. The admission of the entrants to a number of new fields of training and the updating of the educational programmes allow the domestic education system to keep up to date and prepare future highly qualified specialists who will continue to strengthen the foundation of the national economy. 

The year 2024 is being held in our country under the motor “Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Pyragy”, which gives the additional impetus to the rapid development of the sphere of education, science and innovation. The strategic aim of state policy in this area is to increase the accessibility of qualitative education that meets the requirements of innovative economic growth, the modern needs of society and every citizen.    

The dynamic development of the domestic economy along with changes in the main trends of the world market requires constant updating of educational programmes, curricula and the introduction of new solutions aimed at the further prosperity of our Motherland. The perspective directions of the systematic and sustainable development of the domestic economy are embodied in the Programme of the ‘‘Epoch of the Revival of New Era of the Powerful State: National Program of Turkmenistan’s socio-economic development in the period 2022–2052’’, “Programme of the President of Turkmenistan on the Socio-Economic Development of the Country in the Period 2022-2028” and “The National Program of the President of Turkmenistan on the Improvement of Social and Living Conditions in Villages, Settlements, Towns in Etraps and Etrap Centres for the Period until 2028”. 

In order to successfully implement all carefully developed strategic vectors for the development of the domestic economy, new specialties have been opened in a number of higher educational establishments in our country supplementing the university programmes for specialist, bachelor's and master's degrees. The Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management is no exception, where, starting from the 2024-2025 academic year, students will get an education in the new bachelor's degree program "International Trade".

Today, Turkmenistan maintains long-term mutually beneficial trade relations with many countries both at the regional and global levels. The high rates of the economic growth along with the political and financial stability of our country attract the attention of both local and foreign investors, which allows stimulating domestic producers, revealing new export opportunities for them, which in turn is reflected in a significant increase in the inflow of foreign currency and strengthening the stability of the manat.  

The opening of a new training programme in the bachelor’s degree programme “International Trade” is closely connected with the need to provide economic sectors with highly qualified specialists who possess a range of professional knowledge that allows them to analyze development trends in global markets, know and be able to use mechanisms for promoting domestic products and services abroad, and calculate the effectiveness of trade transactions. Students getting an education in this field along with fundamental economic subjects will study various disciplines on organization of trade, international economic relations, international logistic and exchange business.  

The training of highly qualified specialists working on an innovative basis is a guarantee of the long-term economic growth of the country. In this regard, the educational progremmes of the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management provide fundamental theoretical and practical training of specialists for all sectors of the domestic economy.
