Hero-Arkadag met with the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, Binali Yıldırım

On December 10, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, and Honorary Elder, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, Binali Yıldırım, who arrived in the country to participate in festive celebrations. During the meeting, issues related to further developing the centuries-old relations between the Turkmen and Turkish peoples across various spheres were discussed.

Welcoming the guest, Hero-Arkadag noted his pleasure at meeting on the ancient and hospitable Turkmen land during widely celebrated festivities. He highlighted Turkey's international support for the legal status of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, twice recognized by the United Nations. Expressing his honor to participate in the celebrations in Turkmenistan, Binali Yıldırım conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero-Arkadag.

Thanking him for his kind words, the National Leader of the Turkmen people extended his reciprocal greetings to the President of Turkey.

During the meeting, the results of the 16th meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States in Budapest and its associated events were discussed. Hero-Arkadag thanked the guest for ensuring a high level of organization for the meeting, aimed at fostering and strengthening cooperation among Turkic states.

As noted, Turkmenistan and Turkey share centuries-old friendly and brotherly ties, forming the foundation for deepening intergovernmental collaboration, which is currently conducted at a high level. Throughout this time, interstate dialogue has been built on principles of equality, mutual respect, support, and trust.

Hero-Arkadag emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to comprehensive cooperation with neighboring and fraternal countries, particularly Turkic states. He noted that the brotherly peoples are united by relations based on shared historical, cultural, and spiritual values, providing a solid foundation for developing intergovernmental collaboration.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that Turkmenistan's relations with the Organization of Turkic States are reaching a qualitatively new level. In this regard, expanding joint programs and projects implemented with the Organization's subdivisions, particularly within TÜRKSOY, was deemed appropriate. It was noted that the resolution "2025 - International Year of Peace and Trust" was unanimously adopted by the UN General Assembly.

Hero-Arkadag also invited Binali Yıldırım to participate as an honorary guest in upcoming international events marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.

Confirming his readiness to continue supporting initiatives aimed at further developing and strengthening relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey, the National Leader of the Turkmen people wished the guest new successes in his noble endeavors.
