On January 11, Hero- Arkadag – National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, and Honored Elder Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov – arrived in the city of Arkadag, a modern city built on the "smart city" concept. During his visit, Hero- Arkadag reviewed ongoing and planned construction projects, holding a working meeting with officials to evaluate progress and next steps.
The city’s development is currently in its second phase, a major initiative driven by Hero- Arkadag. This phase focuses not only on residential areas but also on industrial complexes, ensuring comprehensive urban development.
Early in the morning, Hero- Arkadag arrived in this exemplary city, which blends national architecture with modern urban design, nestled at the foot of the Kopetdag mountains.
At the recent Cabinet of Ministers meeting, the President of Turkmenistan signed several important decrees, including those related to the construction of the first stage of a medical cluster, infrastructure projects for water, sewage, drainage, stormwater management, and utilities for electricity and gas supply. Additionally, the decrees called for the establishment of a Carpet Weaving Enterprise and the National Museum of Turkmen Carpet and Handicrafts in Arkadag.
First, Hero- Arkadag – a Distinguished Architect of Turkmenistan – reviewed the designs for a multi-lane bridge on Geoktepe Avenue, including its support structures and decorative elements. He emphasized the importance of smooth traffic flow and provided clear instructions for the project.
Following his review, Hero- Arkadag offered valuable feedback and adjustments, stressing the need to modernize key road transport infrastructure according to contemporary standards. He placed great importance on using high-quality and durable materials.
Hero- Arkadag also examined plans for the industrial complexes in the second phase of development, as well as designs for social facilities and site layouts.
The Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of Arkadag City, D. Orazov, and the Mayor of Arkadag, G. Mammedova, presented their plans for the second phase of the city’s development, which includes medical clusters, business centers, and a vaccine production plant.
The second phase of construction will follow the latest urban planning standards. Hero- Arkadag emphasized the need for high-quality work and thoughtful landscaping around the buildings.
Hero- Arkadag underscored the importance of integrating national architectural traditions with modern practices and local natural conditions. He also highlighted the expertise of Turkmen ancestors in water management, which is to be incorporated into the city's infrastructure.
Additionally, Hero- Arkadag instructed the creation of a cultural and entertainment center, which will reflect Turkmen traditions and include a hotel and restaurant that showcase the nation’s heritage.
In recognition of the symbolic importance of the Akhal-Teke horses, sculptures of these majestic animals will be installed in a park. Information about each horse's lineage and history will be displayed on large screens.
Hero- Arkadag held a working meeting with construction leaders involved in the second phase of development. Reports were presented on various facilities, including the medical cluster, Carpet Weaving Enterprise, and the National Museum.
Local construction companies and private enterprises expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to Arkadag’s development, seeing it as an honor and a chance to gain valuable experience through international collaboration.
Turkmen entrepreneurs, leveraging local resources, are contributing to the state’s industrialization and exporting high-quality, eco-friendly products. They are also collaborating with foreign partners, including businesses from South Korea, to enhance expertise and strengthen international cooperation.
The entrepreneurs reassured their commitment to meeting the high standards set for the project and completing their tasks successfully, expressing their thanks to Hero- Arkadag for the trust placed in them.
