The Olympiad in Mathematics among secondary school students "Talented Young Mathematicians" was held

In accordance with the "Concept for Improving the Teaching of Natural and Exact Sciences in Turkmenistan" and the Action Plan for its Implementation, approved by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan dated December 4, 2020 No. 2006, as well as in order to fulfill the tasks set by President Arkadagly Hero to educate an educated, broad-minded, progressive generation, attract young people to science and identify talented representatives, introduce innovations in the science and education system, and implement independent monitoring of the quality of education, on March 5 and 25, 2025, declared the International Year of Peace and Trust, the Olympiad among secondary school students of our country "Talented Young Mathematicians" was held at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University.

The "Talented Young Mathematicians" competition among students 11-12 grades of comprehensive schools of the country in the subject "Mathematics", was held in two stages in the form of an individual competition. In the first stage, schoolchildren from all regions of the country, as well as the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, took part online. Mathematical tasks for the participants of the competition were developed and prepared by the organizing committee created at the university based on the curriculum of comprehensive schools.

In total, 675 schoolchildren from all regions of the country and the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag took part in the first stage of the competition. The winners of the first stage of the competition were determined by the total number of points scored by the participants.

Based on the results of the first round, 100 talented schoolchildren won the right to participate in the second round of the competition, which was held on March 25, 2025 at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University.

The jury examined and checked the results of the work completed by the schoolchildren who participated in the second round. Based on the jury's results, on behalf of the university rector, the winning participants were awarded diplomas of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree. Schoolchildren-participants were introduced to the university's faculties, academic buildings, laboratories, museums and sports complex. Schoolchildren who showed good results were invited to continue their education at the university after finishing school.
