Turkmenistan was represented for the first time in the WCO-Japan professional development program

For the first time, a representative of Turkmenistan took part in the 10-month Professional Development Program of the World Customs Organization (WCO)-Japan. This was reported by the website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

A representative of the State Customs Service of the country, Kerim Ahmedov, successfully completed this course. General Secretary of the World Customs Organization Ian Saunders presented him with a certificate of successful completion of the program.

Kerim Ahmedov worked in the Capacity Building Department of the WCO Secretariat and conducted research activities on customs issues. The results of the work were presented to senior management.

The Professional Development Programme is an initiative launched in 2009 by the World Customs Organization in cooperation with the Japan Customs Service. It provides an opportunity each year for 10 selected candidates to work at the WCO Secretariat for 10 months and conduct research on various customs-related issues, expand their knowledge and gain international experience.
