The State Symphony Orchestra performed the concert

For admirers of symphonic music, a concert titled "Italian Symphony" was held at the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater, performed by the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan under the direction of Resul Gylyjov.

Not only Italian composers were interested in Italian culture, as evidenced by the concert program, which opened with German composer Mendelssohn's "Italian Symphony No. 4". This is the same composer whose name is inseparable from the famous "Wedding March.

Mendelssohn presented the theme of Italy in four parts, each keeping listeners in emotional tension. The symphony concluded with folk dance motifs.

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's trip to Italy inspired the composer to create "Italian Capriccio" - an improvisational piece. The musician was enchanted by the country - an open-air museum - and the temperament of the Italian people. His enthusiastic impressions are expressed in Italian Capriccio," which the audience warmly received. The concert program concluded with Italian composer Rossini, whose work is associated with the flourishing of Italian opera.

Two overtures from Rossini's operas "The Thieving Magpie" and "William Tell" were presented to the Ashgabat audience. The hall appreciated the melodic richness of the composer's works with long-lasting applause. The orchestra performed a fragment from Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's ballet "Swan Lake" as an encore.

"We're saying goodbye for a short while," artistic director and chief conductor Resul Gylyjov addressed the audience, "our classical music evenings will resume in September. Until then, we wish you a good rest in the atmosphere of the sunny Turkmen summer."
