Meeting with the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkish Culture (TURKSOY)

On September 4, 2024, the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev had a meeting with the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Sultanbay Raev. 

In this meeting, the parties exchanged views on the events that were held and will be held in connection with the declaration of the city of Anau as “The cultural capital of the Turkic world” and 2024 as the year of “Magtymguly Pyragy - the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world”. The current state of cooperation and priority areas of its development were discussed at the meeting. At the same time, the effective nature of the cooperation between Turkmenistan and TURKSOY aimed at preserving, studying and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Turkic languages speaking peoples was highlighted. 

During the meeting, the guest proposed the active participation of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan in the final stages of the activities to be held by TURKSOY in 2024.

The Minister of Education of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the bilateral cooperation will be successfully developed within the framework of TURKSOY and said that the education system of our country will contribute to it.
