A meeting was held with the European Union Special Representative for Human Rights

On June 24, 2024, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov and the European Union Special Representative for Human Rights Olof Skoog.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union and noted their interest in its multifaceted development, including on issues of the rule of law and human rights.

The EU representative was informed about Turkmenistan’s large-scale activities to ensure high socio-economic living conditions for the population and to ensure progress in the protection and promotion of human rights and freedoms.

The parties noted the high importance of exchanging views within the framework of the regularly held Human Rights Dialogues, the next meeting of which will be held in Ashgabat on June 25, 2024.
