On December 10, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, and Honorary Elder Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Council of Elders under the Halk Maslahaty and the Charitable Foundation for Assisting Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The agenda included discussions on the implementation of tasks set during the national forum, as well as the progress of large-scale initiatives being carried out in the regions.
Opening the meeting, Hero-Arkadag noted that the country continues to uphold the noble traditions established by ancestors, serving as an example for the world. Festive events celebrating significant dates reflect the happy life of the Turkmen people and the harmonious development of the homeland.
The National Leader congratulated everyone on the successful conclusion of 2024 and the celebration of the Permanent Neutrality Day of the independent state. The Year of “The Treasure of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy” was marked by numerous events, including the high-level Halk Maslahaty session held before Independence Day.
R. Bazarov, Manager of the Halk Maslahaty Office, reported on the activities of the Council of Elders, upcoming tasks, and their implementation. He also highlighted the propaganda work of elders in the regions and the festive events they organized. Elders actively participate in the public life of the country.
Hero-Arkadag emphasized the significant role of the Council of Elders members in conveying key goals of the Halk Maslahaty, the state's domestic and foreign policies, the Foundation's activities, and fostering youth in line with national traditions.
The first speaker, O. Hodjatov from Ashgabat, noted the extensive work under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. He congratulated the National Leader on the publication of the book "Hakyda göwheri "(The Gem of Memory) and the International Neutrality Day.
G. Ayliev from Ahal Region expressed gratitude for the region's attention, including construction projects and the donation of 200 buses. He highlighted the importance of Hero-Arkadag's initiatives on the international stage.
Y. Atamyradov from Balkan Region spoke about successful projects, such as the Balkan-Dashoguz power transmission line and the provision of buses, wishing the leaders good health and success.
E. Talipov from Lebap Region pointed out significant projects, including a cement plant in Koytendag District, and pledged to glorify the nation's achievements.
T. Kurbanmetov from Dashoguz Region expressed gratitude for the Foundation’s work and the construction of a settlement for 1,500 households, noting the special attention given to children and youth.
A. Chariyev from Mary Region highlighted the construction of facilities, the Tejen-Mary highway, and the Foundation’s role in rehabilitating children’s health.
Concluding the meeting, Hero-Arkadag stressed the importance of respecting the older generation and preserving national traditions. He underlined the elders' role as a model school for the youth, fostering patriotism and unity.
In his book "Hakyda göwheri", scholar-Arkadag described the shared cultural and historical roots of Turkic-speaking peoples. He also emphasized the importance of passing on traditions from the older to the younger generation.
