Turkmen students win 106 prizes at International Online Olympiad

The fifth International Open Online Olympiad in the discipline of “Strength of Materials” for students of higher education institutions in Turkmenistan and abroad was held, organized by the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction.

The Olympiad brought together 877 students from 63 higher education institutions across Australia, Germany, Romania, the United States, Malaysia, China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Uganda, and Pakistan.

The opening ceremony, held in the main building of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, gathered a large number of participants. It was attended by heads and faculty members of domestic and foreign universities, students, and other specialists working in education and science.

The competition was conducted in a single round as an individual contest. Participants were given six tasks in the subject, with 120 minutes allotted for completion. The jury determined individual winners based on the total points scored. As a result, students from Turkmen universities won 106 prizes at the international Olympiad.

Notable achievements were made by students from the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, the Institute of Engineering and Technology, the Institute of Transport Communications, the State Energy Institute, the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University, the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev, and the Turkmen Agricultural Institute.

Among foreign participants, students from the People’s Republic of China performed especially well. A total of 432 Chinese students took part in the competition, winning 101 prizes.
