Turkmen scientist participates in the "Visiting Professor" program in Belarus
From October 18 to 24, Maral Bekiyeva, Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan and Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, is on a working visit to Grodno, Republic of Belarus. The Turkmen scientist arrived at the invitation of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno (YKSUG) under the "Visiting Professor" program to lecture Belarusian students and share her extensive experience. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."
This event marks the first instance in the practice of international academic relations where an educator from Turkmenistan has received an invitation of such high caliber from a foreign higher education institution. This initiative has become a clear sign of the international prestige of the Turkmen mathematical school and the deep trust placed in its scholars. In his letter of invitation, the Rector of YKSUG expressed confidence that this visit would strengthen friendly and professional relations between the academic communities of both countries.
As part of the program, Maral Bekiyeva is delivering lectures to students at YKSUG’s Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, majoring in "Software Engineering," "Mathematics," and "Applied Mathematics." The sessions are designed to practically demonstrate the connection between rigorous mathematical theory and real-world tasks, ranging from engineering calculations to ecological modeling. Such collaboration allows students to gain a fresh perspective on familiar subjects and enables faculty members to exchange teaching methodologies.
The visit extends beyond teaching alone, laying a solid foundation for future joint scientific research and educational projects between the universities. Maral Bekiyeva's research focuses on utilizing artificial intelligence to model the hydrogeoecological state of groundwater in arid regions. Her rich teaching experience in mathematical analysis, differential equations, mathematical modeling, and probability theory was highly acclaimed in the academic community of Belarus.
