From April 9 to 14, 2026, an international volleyball tournament among national student teams of boys and girls from Central Asian countries, titled the “2026 CAVA MEN’S AND WOMEN’S UNIVERSIADE GAMES,” was held in Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan. The competition was attended by national student teams formed from higher education institutions of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan. As a result of the intense tournament, in the men’s category final match, the student national team of Turkmenistan defeated the student national team of Uzbekistan with a score of 3–1 and secured a well-deserved 1st place. In the women’s category, our students also achieved success, earning a bronze medal (3rd place).
Members of the successful national team included students from our Yagshygeldi Kakaev International Oil and Gas University, who demonstrated particularly strong performances.
